On Thursday October 2nd 2025, Newcastle-under-Lyme Library held a 'Poetry Busk' Event for National Poetry Day. The Event was organised by Keele University and lasted for nearly 4 hours. Mary Mae Lewis read out four of her own poems at the Event, to an audience.
Mervyn Edwards - a local historian, writer and entertainer - mentioned Mary in a letter that was published the next day in The Sentinel Newspaper.
